| Review: Back in 1977, when George Lucas said in the story ffrâmo Joseph Campbell's Heroes Journey, it was unique. When Sam Raimi said superhero story with the same structure in 2002, it was still enough new filter added. And when Jon Favreau again in 2008, he added a unique touch to the story enough to breathe new life into what was becoming tired of Green Lantern formula.The authors feel that it is enough to skim the cliff notes of Campbell and write a movie based notes on their reading and half-remembered memories of reading comics when they were 12. There is nothing new in this movie. A man gets a magic circle that took him out of the world of the ordinary and make him a hero. We do not grow to fit it because it does not grow or change ... just go through the proposal because the script tells him to.Ryan Reynolds tries his best with a weak script and contrived, but it still comes out snarky to be a jet pilot hes being presumptuous to be. It's not all his fault because the script is much more content to tell us what the cast feel or think rather than letting the actors communicate through their actions, inflections or see. It's as if the writers or cast no faith in their direction, not to mention their audience, and the whole affair dumbed down even lower in the visual character.the cartoon portraits are nice, but never got pressure which leads to the effect of Ryan Reynolds head if necessary from time to time, through a video game. Its sad to think that it was six years ago Gollum, and it is the best Warner Brothers movie to us in pole tent. Its also a shame to think that this is the best they could do with just 37 million dollars less than Avatar. Again, it just shows that the production staff is lazy, never pushed to look better, and instead of setting targets for theyll think it looks cool effect.We should demand better comic book movies. After Dark Knight and Iron Man in a year, we should not be subject to these trips as subpar. Fun is one thing, mind numbingly stupid and lazy in another.Skip this in the theater. Waiting for him to come to Netflix and then forgot to put in your queue. You will thank me. |
